 Summer skiing is to be
experienced with the family or with friends. Under a sky which
blue can be compared to no other, it's a great feeling skiing down the
glacier slopes. The sensation of freedom you get is all the
greater because you're in light summer gear. From the top of the
cable car, at 3,450m, contemplate an unbelievable panorama and discover
the high mountains with a completely safe access.At 7am, serious skiers and never-say-die snowboarders are out on the best snow in Europe's largest ski area. The biggest summer snowpark is here, with half pipes, jumps and bumps, attracting snowboarders out for training or just for the fun of it. The north face of the glacier has a summer freeriding course and extreme skiing in July. Tignes is the only place where that exists - the first such place in the world! Mogul skiing and slalom instruction is available, where you'll rub shoulders with the world's top skiers. There's even a cross-country circuit where die-hards can keep in shape. In the afternoon it's back to the resort for what seems like a whole day of sports, walks, lakeside activities and soaking up the sun. |

A huge summer ski area with 750m vertical drop, 20km of slopes, a snowpark, a mogul and slalom stadiums, Tignes really is the world capital of summer skiing. The best slops of the season are where the privileged gather for snowboarding, carving, telemarking and snowshoeing. Ski Schools There are seven ski and snowboarding schools providing lessons. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, on your own or in a group, in the sun you'll quickly progress. Children can improve rapidly on the skiing and snowboarding courses taken by specialist instructors. The Glacier: not to be missed In a few short minutes, the Tignes funicular railway "Perce Neige" will whist you up to over 3,000m. At the top you can relax, work on your suntan and gaze at the breathtakingly beautiful panoramic view from the enormous sun terrace of the restaurant "Le Panoramic". Meanwhile, the Grande Motte calls out to hikers and intrepid explorers. |
